Barb Jenkins is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and adult rape who has transformed unimaginable trauma into a powerful mission of education, advocacy, and healing. Rather than allowing her experiences to define her, she has chosen to use her voice to challenge misconceptions about sexual violence, inspire meaningful conversations, and give hope to survivors who may still be searching for their own voice.
As an active member of the RAINN Speakers Bureau, a member of the Montana Victim Impact Panel, and the Northwest Representative for Jane Doe No More, Barb has dedicated her life to changing how communities understand and respond to sexual assault. She has trained and volunteered with organizations serving survivors of violence and human trafficking, speaks with incarcerated individuals about the lifelong impact of their crimes, and was nominated for the national Voice of the Survivors Award for her advocacy. Barb is also the author of Burying Jane Doe: A Journey of Courage and Strength, a deeply personal memoir of resilience, healing, and reclaiming hope.
Barb’s message challenges us to look beyond the headlines and statistics to see the human impact of sexual violence. She reminds us that every survivor deserves to be believed, supported, and empowered – and that each of us can help create a culture of compassion, accountability, and prevention.
